Did Monster Storm Come From God's Wrath?
by Rev. Austin Miles
The most devastating storm in U.S. History tore up the East Coast with hurricane force, wreaking havoc.  It could have been worse but Obama and Romney cancelled their election campaigns during the storm, which reduced a significant amount of wind.

Speculation is growing over the mysterious source of various disasters erupting all over the world including earthquakes in areas that have no faults, and destructive storms birthing, swelling and rampaging in unexpected places.

As people question why nature seems to be out of control, some preachers, such as Pat Robertson are proclaiming that God is punishing America for her sins. But these things are not just happening in America, but all over the globe.
But to better answer the question, let's look back to our own history. America was founded on God's Word and principles. Citizens openly embraced Jesus and the churches were packed on Sundays.  America quickly grew to be the most powerful, financially solid country on earth.

This amazed French historian, Alexis de Tocqueville who came to America to find the secret of her success. He would later write, "I visited the farmers in their fields, the workers in the factories and the owners of the shops. Then I went to the churches. When I heard the fiery sermons on righteousness preached from her pulpits I understood.  America is great because she is good. When she ceases to be good, she will no longer be great."

America grew. Children in school opened each day with a Scripture reading and prayer. There was a safe environment for all, including atheists in the schools.

In 1963, a card carrying Communist and atheist, Madalyn Murray O'Hair, filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court stating that prayer in school was unconstitutional and was an offense to non-believers. She sued and won. Prayer, God and reading Bible verses were suddenly banned in our schools. The churches did not arise.

When God was kicked out, violence came in. The safe atmosphere in the schools was no more. In one year following that Supreme Court Decision, the crime rate increased 100%. That stat today is much, much higher and continues to increase.

On January 22,1973, the next kick in the teeth to God erupted with another lawsuit, Roe vs.Wade, which made abortion legal. Since that time, over 55 million babies have been slaughtered in their mother's womb.

And God made it clear in His Word: "It is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend (hurt) one of these little ones." Luke 17:1-2.

Little Children were so important to Jesus that he repeated this warning in two other books: Matthew 18:6 and Mark 9:42. These words, spoken by Jesus, are printed in red. And the churches allowed this mass murder of babies to be unleashed without a peep.

In the midst of America's spiral downward, on September 11, 2001, for the first time in our history, America was attacked on its own soil  by a foreign power. And America is now continually threatened with more attacks from the Muslims. But the churches, like Obama, tried to appease the terrorists and not offend them in any way. Indeed, many pastors have invited Muslim leaders to speak in their churches.

Now that the monster storm roared in with dizzying destruction it seems to be a good time to really look at the question: Was this storm an act of God? No, it was not an act of God, but an act, or rather, the IN-ACTION of us, and our churches!

Let's think back .Notice--THINK back.  We kicked prayer and God out of our public schools and most public events. Our politicians made legal some of the most outlandish sins, actually encouraging people to follow their lusts. Now nature itself seems to have declared war on America.

It is very clear. We told God to get out, that we did not need him, and rejected His Word. So now God is blamed for these calamities?

Remember, we told God we did not want Him so he lifted his hand that was over us, (the Hand that held protection over us all), and left.  It is not a case of punishment, or wrath. It is all due to the fact that we told Him to get out of our lives. So God is not obligated to help us or protect us. This was OUR choice, to be left alone to our own devices. Now we see the results.

What is even worse, we allowed Obama to occupy the Oval Office, a man who has defiled the office of the president, who lies continually, smeared our morals and has encouraged sexual sin. He has brought low-life public vulgarity to the nation's highest office. And, if the churches do not rise to the task, Obama will stay in The Oval Office, but this time he will be there for life as America becomes a Communist nation.

I put the entire responsibility in the hands of our churches. Preach the pure word of God and encourage your congregations to get back to a relationship with Him.  I think it has become abundantly clear what is at stake. We NEED God's hand upon us.

Let us repent and ask forgiveness, reach out to Him, and above all, PRAY and fast right up to election time this Tuesday, November 6th and VOTE responsibly. Otherwise, this will be the last free election in America.  Never take freedom for granted.

2 Chronicles 7:14 is specific: "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; THEN will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."  (emphasis mine)
